Involvement in the exhibition Strappati dalla terra e ridonati al sole. Le ceramiche graffite e le pagine di erbario del giovane Filippo de Pisis (“Torn from the earth and restored to the sun. The incised ceramics and herbarium pages of the young Filippo de Pisis”)
2016
Fifteen herbarium pages loaned by the museum were included in the exhibition Strappati dalla terra e ridonati al sole. Le ceramiche graffite e le pagine di erbario del giovane Filippo de Pisis, which ran from 12 February to 3 April at the Palazzo Turchi di Bagno in Ferrara. The exhibition brought together antique incised ceramics and dried plants collected by the painter and kept at his home in Ferrara. It was also an opportunity to communicate a sense of the enthusiasm for collecting that pervaded early twentieth-century Ferrara.
Participation in the exhibition Mario Rigoni Stern. Escursioni nell’opera e nel paesaggio (“Excursions in the work and landscape of Mario Rigoni Stern”).
2017
The photographic exhibition Mario Rigoni Stern. Escursioni nell’opera e nel paesaggio ran from 1 February to 20 March at the Botanical Garden in Padova. Alongside photographic works by French photographer Loïc Seron, the exhibition included plant samples and sections taken from tree species typically found on the writer’s native Asiago Plateau.
RECENT AND CURRENT CONSERVATION PROJECTS
Collection of wax model fungi
2017
The museum houses two collections of model fungi, one of which – an assortment of pieces made from beeswax – is especially fragile. The collection was fully restored a number of years ago, but further work is required on a number of pieces that suffered fractures due to last year’s uncommonly warm summer.
