RECENT AND ONGOING RESTORATIONS

Restoration of the relief models of Mount Montello, the Asiago Plateau and the Morainic amphitheatre of Garda Lake
2019
As part of the multi-year preservation and maintenance plan of the University Museum Centre, the geological relief model of the Morainic amphitheatre of Garda Lake by Domenico Locchi (1898-1908) was restored, together with the topographic relief models of Mount Montello and the Asiago Plateau, both carried out by the army technicians during WWI.

Restoration of the relief globe by Ernst Schotte
2018
As part of the multi-year preservation and maintenance plan of the University Museum Centre, the relief globe by Ernst Schotte (1861-1918) has been restored and its wooden support stabilized.

Restoration of the relief model of the Swiss Alps by Charles Perron
2017
As part of the multi-year preservation and maintenance plan of the University Museum Centre, the terrain model Relief de la Suisse by Charles Perron (1898-1906) has been restored and placed in its final location.

Restoration of the globe by Heinrich Kiepert and of a set of seven relief models by Amedeo Aureli
2016
As part of the multi-year preservation and maintenance plan of the University Museum Centre, the 1904 Erdglobus by Heinrich Kiepert (1818-1899) has been restored, together with a set of relief models by Amedeo Aureli, dated between 1900 and 1916.
The Aureli set includes seven plaster relief models:
• Phlegraean Fields
• Isle of Fogo
• Isle of Elba
• Isle of Santorini
• Isle of Vulcano
• Isle of Stromboli
• Isle of Ischia
